How can I make shaving my legs a more comfortable experience?
Wet your skin with warm water before applying a generous amount of Skintimate® shave gel to trap and hold moisture on the skin and hair. To soften the hair, wait two to three minutes before shaving. Also periodically check your razors. We recommend using a razor with at least two blades. Sharp blades offer less “drag” across your legs, reducing nicks and cuts. Discard your blade after five uses.
My underarm hair seems to grow in many different directions. In what direction should I shave it?
To shave your underarms effectively, shave up and down, as well as from side to side. You may want to reapply your favorite Skintimate® shaving product while shaving this sensitive area. Tip: Underarm hairs can trap bacteria that lead to body odor. Regular shaving can help eliminate this odor.
I’ve heard that frequent shaving will cause the hair on my upper legs to grow back faster and darker. Is this true?
Don’t believe everything you hear! This simply isn’t true. The natural shedding process gives hair ends a taper. When you shave, however, the hair ends become blunt from being cut, so your hair may seem coarser as it grows in. Also, a woman’s hair can become darker due to hormonal changes that have nothing to do with shaving.
What is the best way to shave?
Use a sharp blade. Keep in mind that the duller the blade the more irritated your skin will become. Change your blades regularly, especially if you have sensitive skin. On sensitive areas, such as the bikini and underarms, shaving with a dull blade can result in red spots. Look for a razor that best fits your needs.
