What’s New For Prom 2010

Each year we hear about lots of new fun ideas for making your prom even more memorable. This year, we have added our “What’s New” page to share some of our favorites with you.

Too Cool For School

Kedai Photo introduces a whole new way for your students to look at prom photography with a live photo display at prom! We think this is a great idea for both prom and after prom events.

Kedai offers introductory rate to tax-exempt organizations

This year, schools have another prom photography option. Kedai , a New York-based startup (www.kedaiphoto.com), has designed a fully shippable device that allows students to share digital photos during prom. This service is an interesting addition or alternative to a professional prom photographer. Students frequently bring digital cameras to prom and capture many fun and memorable shots over the course of the night. With Kedai, students upload their pictures to the Kedai console, which displays images on a flatscreen display.

After Prom, the images are seamlessly transferred to a web gallery, which can be reviewed by a faculty member. Once approved, the web gallery is made available to all of the students. Kedai also designs keepsake DVDs containing the night’s best student-taken photos.

The best news is that Kedai is offering an introductory rate to organizations with tax-exempt status. For full information about Kedai’s 2010 Prom Package, visit kedaiphoto.com. Bookings can be made up to two weeks before your Prom.

About Kedai:

Kedai was founded in response to a high-tech problem: it’s impossible to get all guests’ photos in one place after an event. With dozens of photo sharing websites in use, gathering photos from a party is normally a never-ending task. In 2005, three recent University of Pennsylvania graduates decided that sharing ought to be more fun (and easier). They designed Kedai’s device so that brides and grooms wouldn’t have to spend their newlywed year looking for their wedding photos on the web.

Four years later, Kedai is making event-based, collective photo sharing a reality at all sorts of events. Proms are a natural next step for Kedai’s service. “At a time of increased interest in crowdsourcing of everything from news updates to video clips, hundreds of students who arrive at Prom with their own digital cameras will collectively capture the essence of their night more completely, and less expensively, than a hired photographer.” says Lauren Saul, Kedai’s marketing coordinator.
